Why Your Business Needs Content Marketing

Why Your Business Needs Content Marketing

Why Your Business Needs Content Marketing

We cannot count how many of our trade business owners think that a blog is not necessary for their business. From contractors to builders to plumbers, we hear time and time again that blogs will not benefit their marketing efforts. We are here to tell you that there is a place for a blog in your marketing plan and ANY business can benefit from adding a blog to your website.

What is Content Marketing?

First, what is content marketing? Content marketing is the use of well-written, engaging, informative content to raise awareness of your products or services. When done correctly it is not a non-stop sales pitch for your business but rather a way to educate your clients about the benefits of your services.

There are some key ways that content marketing helps trade businesses

Educate

People want to feel like they are making smart and well-researched decisions. Content marketing has the opportunity to educate them on the service they are looking for and why your business is the best hire.  If a potential customer if searching for your category of service, and they are comparing a basic site to a site with a ton of great information to aid them in making a decision who do you think they will trust more?

 Showcase Expertise and Establish Authority

If you are in a highly saturated or competitive industry it can be easy to get lost in the shuffle and can be a struggle to stand out from your competitors. Content marketing is an amazing platform to boost you above the crowd as an industry expert. When you offer content that educates, interests and above all helps your customers they will look to you as the authority in your field.

 Build Awareness

Quality content wins the day when it comes to web searches and google rankings. A basic website will no longer deliver high numbers of visitors from google search. The more content you have on your site the higher you rank in the search engines and more awareness is built around your business. Although content marketing is not going to deliver instantaneous leads, it is a long-term strategy that grows with consistency. The more your content is shared, the better you rank and the more brand awareness if built.

You may be reading this right now and thinking this all sounds great, but what would I write about? A good way to brainstorm topics is to think about questions you receive from clients over and over. Take a question and turn it into a topic or series of topics. Let’s take a roofing company as an example. Some topics that might resonate with people looking for their services might be:

  • 10 SignsYour Roof Needs Replacement
  • Comparison of Roofing Materials
  • Best Roofing Materials for ______________ (yourgeographic location)
  • How a New Roof ReducesYour Energy Bill
  • PreparingYour Roof for _____________ (season, type of storm)

Even if you think you have nothing interesting to write about, we assure you that is not true. When someone is in the market for your services they are automatically interested and the more content you have out there that educates, showcases your expertise and makes you an authority in your field the better the chance that they will want to hire your company for the project.

5 EASY STEPS TO AMPLIFY YOUR MESSAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Learn 5 simple things you can do to boost your social media presence in your marketing strategy.

Eliminating the Fear of Going from Employee to Owner

Eliminating the Fear of Going from Employee to Owner

Eliminating the Fear of Going from Employee to Owner

If you are considering leaving your job in the corporate world to start your own business, you will likely experience some, if not a lot, of anxiety, fear, and uncertainty in making the leap. And it’s no wonder when more than 50 percent of businesses fail within the first five years.

Here are 10 tips to help you prepare for making the transition from employee to owner:

  1. Decide the best route of ownership for you. You have options. Will you start your own business from the ground up, buy an existing company, purchase a franchise opportunity, or join a direct sales (also known as network marketing) company? There are pros and cons that come with each option. Be sure to take the time to learn about each and choose what’s right for you.
  1. Choose something you are passionate about. The reason for having your own business isn’t to be miserable, so be sure you’ll love what you do. It’s been said that if you love what you do, you won’t feel like you’re working. If you don’t love what you do, you will lack the motivation necessary to weather the storms that come with running a successful business.
  1. Start building your business while you continue working at your current job. While this isn’t always an option, it’s a good idea to take some time to put your feet in and test the waters to make sure business ownership is right for you and also have an income stream while you build.
  1. Create your own security. When you leave your job, you will be leaving behind a consistent paycheck and benefits. You can prepare yourself for the change by making sure you have an alternative cash flow. Do you have a source of income from another job or business? Do you have investments you can rely on for income? Do you have a partner, friends or family members who will financially support you while you build your business? Will you take out a loan? Be careful with the option you choose and choose wisely.
  1. Conduct research and write a plan. Find out what it’s going to take in cost and time to run the business. Determine if you have a viable product or service that others will buy. Define your target market, mission and vision. Take some time to map out your goals and the strategies you will use to accomplish them. Your written plan will be your guide as you run your business and will help you avoid the many of pitfalls other owners face.
  1. Build a network of other professionals. You are influenced by the people you spend your time with. Find and surround yourself with other business owners in various industries who are like-minded. They will help you maintain the appropriate mindset and focus to build your business successfully.
  1. Connect with mentors. You don’t have to take the journey alone. Find others who have successfully run a business similar to the one you want or have and glean from their experience and expertise. Most people will be willing to help and support you and people love to give advice.
  1. Share, share, share. A large part of growing a successful business is making sure others know you are in business and they know what you do. Even before you begin your business, it’s a good idea to start talking about it and letting others know what you’re going to be doing and what your vision is. This will generate interest and potential customers.
  1. Don’t listen to the nay-sayers. There likely will be several well-meaning friends and family members who will try to stop you from leaving your job to own a business. They will give you all the reasons why you shouldn’t do so. Once you’ve decided that owning a business is right for you and you’ve properly prepared for ownership, stick to your plan and don’t let them hold you back. This is your dream and your life. It’s up to you to build it and prove you can!
  1. Make the jump! There comes a time when you’ve done all you can do to prepare and you may find you still have some trepidation in the idea of leaving your job – that’s when it’s time to make the jump. Fear is a great paralyzer; if you wait for there to be no fear, you will probably never get started. When you make the jump, you’ll find it’s not as scary as it seems and you’ll be glad you did.

Owning a business can be scary, but it doesn’t have to be. When you are properly prepared, it’s very rewarding and enjoyable.

Energy WooWoo

Energy WooWoo

Energy WooWoo

When someone talks to you about their energy or that they are energetically sensitive do you (in your mind) roll your eyes and say “yea, right”? The truth is that we can truly light a light bulb with our energy system which is just another name for our nervous system.

One of my favorite movies is The Matrix. I love the scene where there is a power plant that is many stories high filled with what appears to be light bulbs. As the camera moves closer, we see that the bulbs are pods for humans. As the movie progresses, we learn that machines have taken over the earth and enslaved humans to use them for the energy they generate in their bodies. Without getting too detailed the fact is that humans do indeed generate energy and that it is transmitted through their energy system which is simply another name for their nervous system. Yea, I am an anatomy and physiology geek, that’s why I find this so fascinating.

Historically, energy work was associated with eastern medicine and eastern health practices. While the Western medical establishment was resistant for many years to these modalities they have embraced (to greater or lesser degrees) the health benefits of acupuncture, chiropractic, massage and other less scientifically proven types of health practices that work thru and on our nervous and myofascial systems.

What is perhaps less well known and less well accepted is the potential for energy system work to support us in our journeys of emotional and traumatic healing. In order to understand this concept, we need to understand a few facts. First emotion is energy. If this sounds strange to you think about when you are really angry or about to start crying. The amount of energy it takes to stop either one of these emotional reactions is huge. It takes a lot of energy to suppress a lot of energy…because emotion is energy. If we do not express energy it is stored in the body, and the nervous system can access this emotional energy when it is triggered. Starting to sound familiar? When you are “triggered” you immediately react in a way that has nothing to do with the current situation because you are reacting to the memory, the energy, that is stored in the body and accessed via the energy system. It can feel like you are taken over by another being.

This explains why a person can spend years in talk therapy with a talented counselor or psychotherapist and understand the emotional underpinnings of a situation very clearly and still find themselves triggered into the response that is held in their bodies. This is where energy psychology can really change the story.

Energy psychology is a practice that works with the emotional history of an event, trauma, story, wounding to remove the energetic or nervous system link to that physical memory of the emotion.

Pause and read that sentence again…and consider what that means.

In my experience, it means that I can stop the mind-looping story that can go on for days (and nights) when I am triggered into a remembered hurt or painful occurrence that feels similar to what I am now experiencing. It means that I can choose to unwind the story and to stop telling it over and over and over again when I am triggered. It means I can be free of those hurts that I have worked so hard to understand through counseling but still, frustratingly, can become very reactive to.

This tool is incredibly useful, powerful and helpful. If you are interested in knowing more or experimenting with how energy psychology can support you, contact me!

Your Soul

Your Soul

Your Soul

Life Is For You

Have you had a today-is-the-first-day-of-the-rest-of your-life experience? Of course, we have all had many such events. These moments provided soul strength or taught you something new or may have seemed to weaken you. We all view Life differently. Our genetics, experiences, and reactions affect whether we feel Life is for us or against us. My passion is to let the whole world know that Life is for You.

From A Loving Church to a Church Job

I grew up in North Dakota. My divorced Mom was bipolar and alcoholic. She did the best she could, as we all do. We went to church off and on, for holidays mostly. We went to one church where the people were particularly loving. When I moved to Washington to live with my Dad, we attended church regularly. My twin sister and I led the Youth Group. I taught kids Sunday School. I attended Seattle Pacific University and majored in Christian Education and Biblical Studies. I married Kevin, and we had three children. I stayed home for eight years. Then I worked for a local church for 14 years, and halfway through I became Ordained.

A Wisp of Light and Purity to Finding My Soul

For years a sense of Light and Purity would wisp past my consciousness. I wondered if this was part of me or something out there. I stayed home from church one day to listen to a book suggested by a good friend of mine. On October 31, 2013, I found my SOUL. In an instant, I understood I had always been connected to God and would always be connected to God. I discovered, within my Body, my Soul connection to Universal Divine Light, Love, Power, and Wisdom. Nothing I had done or not done would ever change this Soul connection within me. For the first time in my Life, I knew I was ‘okay.’

Have You Ever Imagined Your Soul and your Soul Strength?

I realized I had let religion question my spirituality. Your Soul can become obscured by your experiences. We spend much of our Life trying to become who we are not. Your Soul is Who You Are! Your Soul is a place to Rest when your outside world is disappointing, overwhelming, and stressful. Being aware of your Soul reveals your constant 24/7 connection to Divine Source of Light and Love. As you grow in this awareness, you can sense your Inner Courage, Freedom, and Peace. You become your own Hero! You can live sure of the Abundance which is in you and flows toward you.

Soul Words

Here are some words to describe your Soul. Daily choose and meditate on a word which is most True for you:

Aliveness; Authentic Self; Awareness; Being; Consciousness; Courage; Co-Creator; Divinity; Energy; Enlightenment; Essence; Eternity; Freedom’; Genius; God-in-me; Greatness; Grounded; Happiness, Harmony; Hero; Higher Power; Highest Self; Home; I Am; Identity; Immovable; Incorruptible; Indestructible; Inmost Being; Inner Guidance; Inner Healer; Joy; Life; Light; Love; One; Peace; The Pearl; Presence; Pure; Rest; Source; Strength; Suffering; Superconscious; The Way; Transformation; True Purpose; Truth; Who You Are; Wholeness…

Your Pure and Suffering Soul

In ancient Indian Sanskrit, there are two concepts of Soul. One is the pure part of your Soul called ‘Atman,’ and the other is the part of your Soul who suffers with you called ‘Jiva.’ Your Soul is complete, perfect, and whole – a place to be at Home. Your Soul helps you accept What Is and brings Love and Transformation to all of Life. You never need to feel alone or lost.

Let Dani Be Your Guide

Are you ready to activate your Soul Power, live your Infinite Greatness, and become your own Hero? Imagine how different everything would be if you could transform your Life to Live in place of Freedom and Peace. Let me be Your Guide. Embark on The Soul Power Experience.

Namaste!

An “Aha!” Moment

One of my favorite things to say is “I used to think…, but now I think…” Some people love the thrill of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane. I love the thrill of changing my mind. “Aha!” moments create a dopamine surge of electrical activity in the brain.

Have you ever had a word or concept change your entire world view? Perhaps my Story will inspire you. Consider the greeting ‘Namaste.’ I trust someday we will all see each other as Divine.

Our New Indian Family

Our daughter Alyssa was engaged to Sagar Aggarwal from New Delhi, India. I asked my son-in-law-to-be how to greet my new family in India best. He said to say, ‘Namaste.’ I asked, “What does it mean?” Sagar replied, “The Divine in me greets the Divine in you.”

After being a staff pastor at a church for 14 years, I thought, “That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me!” I was so touched by this beautiful greeting, which instantly changed how I viewed myself and others.

The week of the Wedding arrived, and 12 of us were on our way to India! We were greeted by hugs, flowers, and chai tea. I hugged all the women and children in my new family and said, ‘Namaste.’ I greeted the men with ‘Namaste’ and waited to see if a hug was offered. We had a wonderful week of being tourists and accompanying our daughter for Wedding preparations! Our Indian family did everything they could to show us love and care.

Zumba Workouts Paid Off

Some of the Wedding traditions were simplified. A Dancy Party was held at the family home (rather than a venue). The DJ was a relative, and the music was loud! Sagar’s brother-in-law Saurabh loved to dance and led us in a circle around the main room! I was next in line and used many Zumba moves as I followed him. At the end of the evening, Sagar said, “Thank you, Mom! I feel your love as I feel my own Mom’s.”

“God has met us here!”

Sagar’s Mom, Seema, is a very loving and devout Hindu. They have a temple room in their home, which is used daily. Before meals Seema would bow her head and pray silently. Seema would be praying long after I said my silent prayers. As our two families from the other side of the world showed love for each other, one evening Seema exclaimed. “God has met us here,”! Her beautiful words exploded in my heart, and I experienced a new conversion of faith.

“Girl, you have no box!”

After we came home, I told a girlfriend about being in India and said, “I think the lid is being nudged off my box. She wisely said. “Girl, you have no box!” Now, everything I believe and practice as a Christian has to also be true for my family in India.

Celebrating You

Alyssa and Sagar have been married for 4 years now. And have blessed us with a beautiful grandson named Samar. My favorite greeting is still ‘Namaste.’ When I am asked, “What does ‘Namaste’ mean”? I explain, “The Divine in me CELEBRATES the Divine in you.”

To you, I say, “Namaste.” I celebrate your Divine Soul.

I have created The Soul Power Experience to enable clients to recognize and remove that which blocks them from tapping into the Light, Love, Power, and Wisdom of their Soul.
