Things to Do When You Feel Lonely

Things to Do When You Feel Lonely

Setting Goals For 2020

There’s a misnomer that being alone means you’re lonely. So often, that’s not the case.
Many people really enjoy solitude and quiet. There are times when everyone feels alone
in this big world. When that happens, there are lots of things you can do to alleviate
those feelings.

By implementing these things not only you will be able to lessen your loneliness, but will also
learn how to love living alone. So let’s dive in:

Make Plans

When you feel alone, make plans with someone! Whether it’s a new friend from church,
your adult kids, your neighbor down the street—who it is matters not as much as that
you’re planning to do something with someone. Making plans for future engagements
gives you something to look forward to, and helps you remember you’re not really alone
in the world.

Eliminate Negative Thoughts

When we’re alone, it’s really easy to feel lonely. It’s also easy to feel sorry for ourselves
that we’re alone. Instead of letting those negative thoughts take us, kick them out and
instead replace them with positive ones that remind you of how lucky you are. Go to
your local department store and just walk around and smile at people as you walk.
Sounds silly, but nothing gets you away from feeling alone like being around other
people who appreciate your smiles and positivity and return it to you.

Join A Hobby Group

Now is an incredible time to join a hobby group and meet other like-minded people. In
this day and age, you can find a group of people who meet around just about any
lifestyle or hobby. Always loved beautiful pictures and art? Join a photography club or
sign up for your local wine & design class to learn how to paint.

You could also consider joining groups where there are more people of your age so you
have a network of people you can contact when you’re feeling lonely. Whether it’s an
exercise class at your local YMCA or volunteering with your local soup kitchen, meeting
and gathering with people who have similar likes and lifestyles will remind you you’re
not alone at all!

Do Something For Yourself

Sometimes, when you feel alone, you may not be taking the best care of yourself.
Consider getting a massage or a facial to make you feel better about yourself. Look at
your wardrobe and see if there’s something you could donate so that you can go find
something to freshen your current style up with a bit. Taking care of yourself takes the
focus off of being alone and puts that alone time to great use!

Explore

When you feel alone, get out into this big world and explore! Go somewhere new. You
might be surprised at whom you run into! Even if you have lived in the same city for
years, look at your location as a tourist and get out and see what your city has to offer.

Consider A Pet

If you don’t have a pet, consider getting one. Pets can help keep us healthier and living
longer. There’s nothing cuter than a puppy or kitten snuggling up on your lap for a nice
nap, is there? Walking dogs also gets you outside where other people may be, and you
can join a whole new network of pet parents!

It’s inevitable that sometimes we may feel alone, but when you do, there are lots of
things you can do to curb that feeling. Whether you meet new people or just get out and
about, take a chance on doing something for yourself and feel alone no more!

I was becoming an empty nester, a woman of a more interesting age and in transition. Sound familiar? I was at that place where we question our purpose, value, and worth and what in the world are we going to do with the rest of our lives.

I noticed women have a huge hunger to belong to a community of women where they can feel safe, share openly from their heart and have other women to do life with! This is why I created my Fave Lifestyles.

Fave is for the woman who wants to call Fave her community of women who support, uplift, and make her feel better about herself. I want to create a place where we help her answer life's questions and just do life together!

Words of Loving Kindness

Words of Loving Kindness

Words of Loving Kindness

“Dear children, let us not love with words and speech but with actions and truth.”
1 John 3:18

My husband, Kurt, and I love our overnights with our two-year old grandsons, Enzo and
Austin. They’re absolutely delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together, but
one question has followed me in our time together.

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

During one weekend with Enzo, Kurt called from work and asked, “How are you doing?”

I replied, “Kurt, I’m exhausted.”

Kurt walked in the door shortly thereafter and asked, “How are you doing?”

I replied, “Kurt, I’m exhausted.”

The next morning, Kurt saw me stumble out of bed. “How are you doing?”

“Kurt, I’m exhausted.”

HOW ARE YOU DOING?

Later that day I heard Enzo repeating the word “exhausted” in his quiet little voice.
Yikes! I thought to myself. That one word is going to define our weekend together, not
something I wanted at all, knowing our time with Enzo really had been delightful, a time
of treasured memories. And really—I wasn’t that tired.

How are you doing in your bigger and smaller conversations—really? For all of us, our
words can define a moment, color a situation, add clarity to a conversation. They can
also misrepresent, distort, and skew the memory. Other words might go unspoken,
words that need to be said. Yes, I was a little weary from childcare duties, but
“exxxhhhaaauuusssted” was an unnecessary exaggeration.

I’ve become a passionate advocate for words of loving kindness, words that are
surrounded with actions and truth. “Walk the W.O.L.K.,” I like to say. Walk the words of
loving kindness. We have so much to talk about. But be honest. Stay
connected—throughout the day, throughout life. Share God’s love, joy, peace, and hope
in so many ways.

Deanna Nowadnick

Before my father died, he reminded me that Mom had asked me to write a book. At the time the boys were in college, and the notion of writing was unfathomable. Writers write books. By the time my boys were adults, I’d run out of excuses. I was also at that age when I could pause and reflect.

Fruit of My Spirit: Reframing Life in God’s Grace was my first publishing endeavor. My second was Signs in Life: Finding Direction in Our Travels with God. Both are collections of stories that tell of God’s love and faithfulness. Both tell of His remarkable grace and mercy.

When not writing, I serve as the Client Service Coordinator for The Planner’s Edge, an investment advisory firm in Washington state. I’m active in my church, serving on the Leadership Team and gathering with a wonderful group of ladies to study and giggle over lattes and chocolate. On my desk is a rock with the words “Choose Joy!” etched in it. It’s my inspiration for each day. As an author, it is my hope that my own words might share that joy we find together as children of God.

With Him, it can be so.

Transform Your Money Story

Transform Your Money Story

Transform Your Money Story

What Is Your Money Story?
Childhood memories have an impact on how we feel about money as adults. I no longer worry about money.
The day I began to see Abundance, I was overwhelmed with energy, gratitude, provision, and love. Transform
your view of money by sensing ‘Abundance is Everywhere’!

Look at the front of a coin or the back of a dollar bill to see ‘In God We Trust”! Now add, “I Trust in Me!” Put
coins around your house, work, and car to be reminded that money is a matter of trust between you and
Source!

Do You Have a Fixed or a Growth Mindset about Money?
A fixed mindset about money is when you consider what you earn, what is in the bank, and the bills you need
to pay, which is a common and practical view of money, but it is also limiting and finite.

To not feel worried about money, develop a growth mindset. If feeling a sense of lack, bring your thoughts to a
higher level and consider that money is currency and energy! Sense money flowing toward you! Just allowing
your thoughts and your body to feel this current of positive energy opens a channel of Abundance. Close your
eyes and give it a try! Can you feel Abundance?

Abundance Is Everywhere!
Keep in mind the mantra, ‘Abundance is Everywhere,’ to rise above your money worries! A growth mindset is
that money is Infinite, which releases emotional tension and opens the flow of Abundance in every area of your
life!

First, see Abundance everywhere! See Abundance in everything that makes up your home. Notice the
abundant parts of your car or cell phone. Now, be grateful for the abundant renewing cells in your body, the
functioning of your organs, and the strength of your muscles. See the abundant fibers of your clothes. See the
abundant leaves on the trees, the blades of grass, the animals, the mountains, the rivers and seas, the sky,
stars and planets.

Sense Abundance as flowing toward and for you and through and from you! By the way, you have an
Abundance of 7 billion potential clients!

Soul Power
Before my money transformation, I mistakenly thought if I had more money, I would feel more powerful. I was
in a group hypnotherapy session when I instantly realized that my power comes from my Soul and not from
money! When we access the spiritual and eternal power of our Soul, we have an Infinite source of energy and
provision.

Money has nothing to do with inner power. Those who depend on money for personal power will be continually
unsatisfied.

Pure Intention
Evaluate why you want money, and soon realize your intentions are for the good of yourself, your family, the
community, and the world. Anything more would be simply more, but not essential to your wellbeing.

Eternal Security
We are tempted to feel more secure when we have money. When we feel secure in what is unseen and
eternal, we trust Universal God Source to meet our needs as we continue to work toward our life purpose.
Trust in your Divine Soul and your unfailing connection to Source.

Money Begins With A Creative Idea
All money starts with a creative idea. The company you work for started as a creative idea. Your work as an
entrepreneur is fueled by creative ideas! Source bringsa vision for potential action! Source will give the ideas,
words and ingenuity you need. You are a creative person with your unique relationship with Divine Flow.

Each of us is an individual expression of the creative process of Universal God Source, no matter how
circumstances have obscured this reality. You are at the center of an Abundant Universe. Lift your eyes to the
north, south, east, and west; it is all yours.

A Change of Consciousness
All things are possible by becoming synchronized with the higher level of consciousness of Divine Love and
Abundance. You are One with the Source of Abundance. Abundance is for you, right now!

Benefits of Self-Awareness

Benefits of Self-Awareness

Self-Quiz: Are You “Too Busy”?

Are you curious about self-awareness? Or do you feel like you have it down?

Some of us really like it and others not so much.

Yet, when we understand the benefits of self-awareness and how to become more self aware, that can be a game changer.

Here are some benefits of having self-awareness:

You know more about:
• Your values, strengths and weaknesses
• You understand your habits (good and not so good)
• You are more in acceptance of your “faults”
• You know your personality, thoughts and beliefs
• You know what motivates you

And this can bring more self-confidence and less comparison to others.

What are the benefits of self awareness?

When we have a better understanding of ourselves, we are more empowered to make
changes and improvements in our lives instead of feeling that we are being victimized by life.

What does it mean to be self aware?

When we become self-aware, we get to create the life we want because it helps us to
realize our passions and where our thoughts and emotions are taking us on our path.
This way we get to pivot at any point to make the changes we want to make.

What is the importance of self awareness?

Without self awareness, you are letting life happen TO you and not FOR you. This can
make us feel more victimized by life instead of being the heroine in our journey.

Self-awareness is considered a vital first step in taking control of our lives so we can
create what we want and master our future.
