From My Fave Chair to Yours!

Spring of 2020 will be a time marker in History. From my Chair today, I’m thinking about hand
sanitizers and sanitizing my Chair before sitting.

How different than just a few weeks ago. Every e-mail being exchanged ends with “be safe and
well” From the National Association of Realtors, State of Washington Realtor association, and
my own company Exp Realty, I’m getting daily updates on how to conduct business at this
moment in time. My goal in writing “My Fave Chair to Yours today is to offer Encouragement
and inspiration for these uncertain times.

More “Hope” quotes on Facebook.

What I believe is that when this history-making event is behind us, we will have a flood of
activity in the Real Estate world. Right now, there is very little going on. Its times like these that
Buyers who desperately need to find a home or sellers who have no flexibility or ones that want
to take advantage of the lack of activity in the marketplace will surface. There is always business
to find.

After all these days at home, I believe, the long periods of looking at our four walls thinking
about the future will lead us to thoughts about buying a new home. Dreams to buy a larger home
or a smaller home or move to a different area will surface—potential adjustments in home
purchases or sales to subtract from or add to the financial wealth picture. Green Homes or a
home with up to date technology, more creative living space, more gardening room, play areas,
or more garages could be a list of ideas for the Dream Home. Find your Dream home.

I believe, too, that for families that want to combine their living situation to be closer to each
other, available for more care if needed, and connect lifestyles for the future. These people will
be looking for homes that offer Additional Dwelling Units (ADU)
There are many of these types of living arrangements on the Market today. Locations where
there are two homes on one property. Homes that offer separate living quarters for guests,
members of their family, or they rent it out either on full or part-time bases. This option is an
alternative to Adult care or assisted care homes. Take a search for yourself.

Today I took a look to see what offerings were available. If you are looking in Snohomish county
today for a home that has an additional dwelling unit (ADU) that is over 800sq feet, you find 15
homes that meet the criteria. In King County, there are 20 homes listed and active on the Market
today.

What is your dream about where you live? Will you be ready for a change in a few months? Now
maybe a good time for a consultation over the online video conferencing link called Zoom.

Here is a list that we could talk about:
The Desired Criteria
Timeline for a purchase or sale to happen
What financial impacts of current events will have on housing?
Lifestyle dreams
Financial planning for new homes
Wealth Building with Real Estate
First home buying
Downsizing ideas

The list certainly could be longer. If you would like to explore in a Zoom environment with
others, the ideas that I have regarding Buying & Selling Real Estate come to join an Event that
Marcelle Allen, an author and entrepreneur, and myself a 22-year Real Estate agent will happen
on Zoom. It’s a Game; it’s thought-provoking, and its fun! Take your mind off the News and
take time to Hope for a better tomorrow.

We believe & want to help you achieve your life goals beyond today & we can start those
conversations over Zoom in consultation or this fun game called: Financial Joy and Wealth
Building with Real Estate. Sign up and Join us.

Stay Safe, Stay Well,
Dream the Dreams that reflect your Hope.

How Does Forgiveness Affect Your Health

How Does Forgiveness Affect Your Health

Fave Lifestyles

Do you notice a difference in your body when you are struggling with resentment, sadness or
anger?

How does it feel when you are happy and feel connected?

Makes a difference doesn’t it?

It’s been proven that forgiveness or unforgiveness really plays a critical role in our health.

So how does forgiveness affect your health?

Here is an excerpt from a blog written by Colin Tipping, author of the Radical Forgiveness book,
entitled,  “Unforgiveness is classified in medical books as a disease.” And when you read
to the end you receive a 4 step forgiveness tool to aid you in the forgiveness process.

“According to Dr. Steven Standiford, chief of surgery at the Cancer Treatment Centers of America,
refusing to forgive makes people sick and keeps them that way. With that in mind, forgiveness
therapy is now being used to help treat diseases, such as cancer.

“It’s important to treat emotional wounds or disorders because they really can hinder
someone’s reactions to the treatments, even someone’s willingness to pursue
treatment,”

Standiford explained.

Of all cancer patients, 61 percent have forgiveness issues. Of those, more than half are severe,
according to research by Dr. Michael Barry, a pastor and the author of the book, The Forgiveness
Project. “Harboring these negative emotions, this anger and hatred, creates a state of
chronic anxiety,” he said.

“Chronic anxiety very predictably produces excess adrenaline and cortisol, which deplete
the production of natural killer cells, which is your body’s foot soldier in the fight against
cancer,” Dr. Barry explained. The fact is, of course, this applies to everyone, not just cancer
patients.”

There’s a tool in Radical Forgiveness called, The Emerge-N-See 4-Step Process, that can be
used any time you feel stressed or some irritation comes up. Writing these down or memorizing
them is really helpful.

1. Look what I created!
2. I notice my feelings and my judgments but love myself anyway.
3. I am willing to see the perfection in the situation.
4. I choose peace.

It’s amazing how this can transform the situation immediately. Just by being willing to be willing
can make a change.

Navigating COVID-19: Dealing With Depression & Anxiety, What’s Gratitude Got to Do With It?

Navigating COVID-19: Dealing With Depression & Anxiety, What’s Gratitude Got to Do With It?

Hi ladies.

My name is Kim Peterson and this is my first VLOG/article within Fave, what an honor to be in community with you!

While I’m a coach, and not a licensed mental health provider, I wanted to share a game-changing skill and technique I learned for helping me process through spurts of feeling anxious during a time when we are still experiencing change and uncertainty. I’ve passed it along to my clients and thought to share with you too.

…Please extend grace, beautiful grace, to me as I’m divin’ right in from a place of vulnerability and personal experience on the topics of anxiety and depression.

By the time this video comes out, it will likely be about one month since I first created it; however, I believe it offers timeless value for anyone who may be struggling with how to process the roller coaster of emotions while navigating COVID-19 – and beyond.
Here are (4) Steps You Can Take To Embrace A Daily Practice of Gratitude:

  1. Acknowledge your reality
  2. Feel the emotion you are feeling vs. stuffing
  3. Ask yourself, “What do you need – right now?
  4. Find at least (1) thing for which to be grateful

Sharing from someone who used to be somewhat debilitated by anxiety and depression, take what makes sense and toss the rest.

Championing your confident breakthroughs on the inside and out, and insisting on H.O.P.E. in these times of change.

How To Stay Safe When Online Dating

How To Stay Safe When Online Dating

Fave Lifestyles

You’ve decided you’re going to take the plunge and hit the online dating scene. Good for you!
Before you dive in, make sure you are aware of how to stay safe when online dating.

The rules of online dating are pretty variable, but one thing never changes, you need to make
sure you are safe. Online dating is a multi-billion-dollar industry, and different sites have
different levels of verification of users. Although the majority of people using these platforms
are doing so with the same goal as you, there are also those who seek to take advantage of others.
So, when it comes to how to stay safe when online dating, here are our best tips.

Do A Little Research

No, we’re not encouraging you to become a stalker and troll your potential date’s social media
platforms but do a little research. Look for additional information and pictures with a quick
Google search. The more you know, the better. Use the Google “Search by Image” feature when
you’re looking at Facebook profiles so you can make sure that you’re not dealing with fake
accounts.

Consider Video Chatting First

You’re already looking for potential dates online, consider video conversations before real-life
meetups for your own safety. Use Google Hangouts, Facetime, Facebook, or even Zoom and talk
person-to-person—just from the security of your OWN home. This can help prevent you from
being scammed, and can also give you good info about whether you’re interested in future dates
or not. Also, consider using a free Google Voice phone number. Doing so means you don’t have
to give any of your personal info out, but you can still check calls, messages, and voicemails. You
can also block those sketchy people and save your personal number for those truly vetted people.

If you’re not up for video chatting, consider a phone call. You can tell a lot about a person by
talking to them and hearing their inflection—things you just can’t always convey well in a text
message or emails. Plus, you can get to know them better before risking the real-life interface.

Be Direct

You’re meeting a stranger for the first time; don’t be scared to stand up for yourself! This is a
two-way street; if someone is legitimately interested in you, then it’s your right and in your best
interest to ask anything and everything that makes you feel safe. If someone has an issue with
proving themselves to be who they say you are then maybe they’re not the right person for you.
You want someone who understands your need for safety is essential and they’re happy to make
sure you feel that way.

Meet In Public, Drive Yourself

ALWAYS meet in a public area for the first couple of dates. Meet where there are lots of people
around and where you have a way out if you feel uncomfortable. The last thing you want is to be
stuck. Be responsible for your own transportation for the first couple of dates. Chivalry doesn’t
have to die, but just let it be on hold for a bit until you know you’re in good hands. Plus, you
don’t want someone having your personal address right off the bat either!

Share Your Plans

This is important. Tell your children, your girlfriend, your pastor…anyone. Just make sure that
someone else knows your exact plans and whereabouts. You’ll feel better knowing someone has
your back.

Keep Your Personal Info Private

Again, don’t give out significant details like your address, your phone number, your workplace,
etc. upfront. It’s wise to be careful with your birthday, your family members’ residences, and any
other personal details. Just remember to go slowly and share that info as you know more about
the person.

Watch Your Alcohol Consumption

Yes, it’s nice to have a glass of wine online, but…stay sober. DEFINITELY stay sober when
you’re meeting up, but even when you’re just vetting and chatting online. You want to have full
faculties as you’re figuring out if you wish to spend more time with this person!

Carry Protection

We know that sounds dramatic, but…better to be safe than sorry. Consider pepper spray when
meeting up with someone you’ve found online, just to be safe.

When you’re dating online, the most important thing to remember is to listen to your gut. If it
tells you this may be too good to be true? Remember guts don’t usually lie. Guard yourself well
initially, and as you do, you’ll find the right ones to show themselves to be those you can trust and
explore a deeper and more meaningful relationship.

I noticed women have a huge hunger to belong to a community of women where they can feel safe, share openly from their heart and have other women to do life with! This is why I created my Fave Lifestyles.

Fave is for the woman who wants to call Fave her community of women who support, uplift, and make her feel better about herself. I want to create a place where we help her answer life's questions and just do life together!

Finding God in the Details

Finding God in the Details

Fave Lifestyles

Hi! I’m Deanna Nowadnick. I’m a writer here at Fave Lifestyles. I’m also the host of our Sunday night, “Conversations on the Purple Couch”. I love helping women of faith connect our delightfully ordinary stories to God’s extraordinary love and faithfulness, so that we can be encouraged and empowered, knowing that God’s been in the details—always has been, always will be!

We’ve been in the middle of a very challenging time, a pandemic, and I am determined to see God in the details. Too often I’m not seeing God in the details, I’m seeing Deanna. Too often I’m thinking—I’ve got this.

I don’t “got this.” Even in the best of times, I don’t “got this.” I don’t say that to add to our alarm; I say that to inspire hope, to remind us that our God’s got
this—in the bigger moments, both the scary ones and the beautiful ones and also in the smaller ones, in a single word of hope, a kind gesture of compassion, a small inspiration finds a cure. God remains bigger than our biggest fear, stronger than the strongest virus.

In a favorite Bible verse, we’re told,

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
Psalm 23:1

I don’t know what tomorrow will bring, but I do know that God will provide for us—in ways we never expected, never ever imagined. That can sound namby-pamby in times of stress. That can sound trite in times of loss, but watch for it! I promise you: You will see Him in the details and together we’ll get through it all.

Deanna Nowadnick

Before my father died, he reminded me that Mom had asked me to write a book. At the time the boys were in college, and the notion of writing was unfathomable. Writers write books. By the time my boys were adults, I’d run out of excuses. I was also at that age when I could pause and reflect.

Fruit of My Spirit: Reframing Life in God’s Grace was my first publishing endeavor. My second was Signs in Life: Finding Direction in Our Travels with God. Both are collections of stories that tell of God’s love and faithfulness. Both tell of His remarkable grace and mercy.

When not writing, I serve as the Client Service Coordinator for The Planner’s Edge, an investment advisory firm in Washington state. I’m active in my church, serving on the Leadership Team and gathering with a wonderful group of ladies to study and giggle over lattes and chocolate. On my desk is a rock with the words “Choose Joy!” etched in it. It’s my inspiration for each day. As an author, it is my hope that my own words might share that joy we find together as children of God.

With Him, it can be so.
