How A Pinterest User Turns Into A Client?

How A Pinterest User Turns Into A Client?

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

The main reason that business owners do not use Pinterest in their marketing strategy is that they do not see how a Pinterest user turns into a paying client. Today I want to share an overview of how a Pinterest scroller ends up on your client roster.

Pinterest is a discovery platform. While other platforms focus on connecting users and encouraging engagement, Pinterest is driven by discovering new ideas, trends and inspiration. In fact, 85% of weekly US Pinners have made a purchase based on pins from a brand.

The other major way that Pinterest is different than other social media platforms is that your pins can deliver traffic for you for months after they are pinned. If a pin is relevant to a search, Pinterest can deliver it up for months! What an ROI on your marketing time and money! Compare this to Facebook where you will receive 50% of your engagement in 90 minutes, and Twitter where the half life is 24 minutes. Pinterest delivers traffic for as long as your pin is relevant to searches, it can be a powerful tool in any marketing strategy.

So, what is the process to turn a Pinterest user into a client? Here is a simple customer journey map.

As you can see, the process is pretty simple. The thing I see most often is that business owners do not have the complete Pinterest funnel in place. They are not being strategic about the content they are adding to the Pinterest platform OR they have no plan to capture the traffic they are getting from Pinterest. An effective strategy plans out the user journey from discovery to booking. How do you create an effective funnel? Check out the image below for an example.

Pinterest allows potential clients to discover and learn about you over time. It takes time to build up traffic, but when done correctly the Pinterest platform can deliver traffic to you for months and years to come!

How to Repurpose Your Content

How to Repurpose Your Content

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

Creating content for your audience can feel like a never ending job. As soon as you post a blog or video you immediately have to start thinking about your next idea. What if there was a way to turn once blog posts into 5+ pieces of content? That sounds pretty amazing to me! Not only is repurposing a great idea to save time, it is also a good idea for getting more eyes on your content. Not everyone is going to read a blog post, but they might watch a video. The more ways you get your ideas out into the world, the more chances to be discovered.

Today let’s break down all of the ways you can turn one blog post into multiple content points for your audience. If the primary way you create content is a podcast or a video, all of these suggestions still apply.

Infographic – Pull key points out of the blog and create an infographic or visual. Think of it as a small taste of the larger topic.

Newsletter – Summarize your content and drive your subscribers back to your website to read the entire article.

Blog Post – If a blog is not your primary content vehicle, make sure that turning your video or podcast into a blog post. This will help with SEO and for those who prefer the written word it gives the option to read rather than listen or watch.

Free Guide – Go a little further with your blog post and offer a worksheet, extra info, or something with added value. This can be used as an opt-in offer that the reader gets when they join your mailing list.

eBook – Is there a lot more info you could give? Is it a topic that could lend itself to a deep dive? Consider an ebook. This could be another free download or could even be a paid product.

Video– Turn that blog post into a live video! Compile the key points into an easy to view video for those who like to watch content.

Live Video-Another way to use video is to go live on your social media platforms. This can be a little scary if you are not used to video, but it is actually really fun! Use your blog as your script and hit the go live button.

Podcast-If you have a podcast turn your topic into an episode, if you are a guest on other peoples podcasts you can add this topic to your one sheet and pitch yourself based on this topic.

Webinar-Finally, if you can teach a lesson based on your topic turn it into a free or paid webinar. This is another great way to get people on your mailing list.

When repurposing don’t feel like you have to use every different option, choose the ones that make sense for your business. If you would like a more in depth help with repurposing, grab our free workbook!

How to Write Content for Pinterest Growth

How to Write Content for Pinterest Growth

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

Pinterest marketing works when you have great content. People go to Pinterest to search for inspiration, ideas and solve problems. When you provide quality content to the Pinterest platform your ideal client can discover you and start the journey into your sales funnel. To create the content that will convert Pinterest users to potential clients, there are some key things to remember.

Think Like Your Potential Clients

When planning your content think about the pain points of your clients. What problem do you solve? What questions do you answer? What will your potential clients be searching for on Pinterest. If you answer these questions first, you can create content that is tailored to your ideal client and will be easily discovered on Pinterest.

Get Ahead of Seasonal Searches

If your product or services are seasonal or you have offers that are available certain times of the year, make sure that you are creating content well in advance of the actual holiday or season. People begin searching for content on Pinterest months before the actual event, so if you post too late you miss out on the traffic. Check out this past post about timing your pinning of  holiday content.

Offer Next Steps for the Reader

Always include a call to action in your content. All the website traffic from Pinterest makes no difference if it is not converting. Whether you invite them to join an email list, Facebook group or take some other action, a next step is important. It is the difference between having a reader or a warm lead. Get those Pinterest users into a space that allows you to nurture them through your sales funnel.

Not all content is created equal on Pinterest. With these three basic tips, you can make sure your content is primed for Pinterest success! If you are interested in chatting more about your Pinterest marketing, please be in touch!

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

My Favorite Biz Books from 2020

This year I have read some GREAT business books! I am an avid reader and I love to learn from all of the brilliance these authors have imparted. As you look into 2021 I would highly recommend any of these five books!

Drop the Ball by Tiffany Dufu

It is not an exaggeration to say this book changed my life. I read this book in two days while on a mini get away with my husband. As a busy mom and business owner who thought she had to do everything herself and her way for it to be correct, this book was just what I needed. It truly has taught me to delegate and let go. This book was a game changer.

Atomic Habits-James Clear

I started my year with this book and although the year did not turn out like I had pictured the lessons of this book were still quite helpful. While this book has content that could apply to any goal you set, I found it especially helpful in my business. If you struggle to be consistent with your habits and it is sabotaging your long term goals this is a great book.

Reset Your Mindset-Natalie Eckdahl

This book is all about mindset issues that can be holding you back in your business. Whether it is a limiting belief around money or imposter syndrome, Natalie helps identify these blocks and teaches how to work through them to achieve greater success in your business. She is also my business coach and a brilliant podcaster. So, I may be biased as a lot of my success I attribute to her guidance.

Profit First by Mike Michalowicz

Profit First, another game changer book. I read this book every year and it is one of my favorites. Entrepreneurs tend to pay themselves last and often not at all. This book teaches an amazing way to handle money in your business so that you can be paid first!

Buying Signals by Nikki Rausch

Nikki Rausch is another brilliant coach that I have had the pleasure of learning from over the years. She teaches about selling in a way that really resonated with me as an introvert. This book is a great resource for learning to recognize buying signals in your conversations with potential clients. I was shocked at how many I was missing.

What books did you read in 2020? Any that you would recommend? I would love to add more to my reading list.
