What is Self-hypnosis?
Self-hypnosis is any relaxation and meditation technique that helps to improve your mindset,
consciousness, or behavior! First, focus on slowing and deepening your breathing and relax your
body. Use these techniques to make a difference in your life! Here are eight techniques to use to help

1. Eye Fixation – focus and stare at a 45-degree angle (slightly up) point in front of you, as your
eyes become tired and blink, you will begin to blink more slowly until your eyes close as you blink
slowly and allow your body to relax. Any amount of time you can spend relaxing your body is good for
your cells and immune system.

2. Keyword – Write a goal statement, and within that statement, find a keyword that you can repeat
to yourself to inspire you to accomplish your goal. Focus on the key word until you feel its truth within
your body. For example, you could say, “Nutritious foods satisfy me physically, mentally, and
emotionally”. And your keyword could be ‘satisfy.’

3. Body to Fingers Anchor – In a relaxed state, focus on a word like ‘calm,’ and when you feel as
though you are as calm as you can be, place your thumb against any fingers on either hand and
squeeze. Anytime you need to be calm, place your same fingers together and allow ‘calm’ to fill your
body.

4. Ball-Toss – Using a weighted ball, slowly toss the ball hand to hand and let the rhythmic motion
bring relaxation to your entire body.

5. Sway Test – stand with feet shoulder-width apart and relax. Hold whatever you are testing to your
chest and sense whether your body sways forward for ‘yes’ or back for ‘no.’ You can receive ‘yes’ or
‘no’ information from your superconscious mind. For example, you can find out if a food or
supplement is good for you! Relax, hold the item, remain neutral, and test if you sway forward or
backward!

6. Mind Movie – Create a movie in your mind of you what you would like to do, generate a level of
emotional passion and purpose. Positive dreaming at the subconscious level helps you accomplish
your goals.

7. Belief in a Good Higher Power – Belief in God or a Universal Divine Source opens up the
subconscious mind. Studies show one main factor of a healthy brain is your belief that God is Good
and Loving. It is not good for your mental pr physical health if you believe God is not loving.

8. Cancel, cancel, cancel – If you have a thought that keeps repeating in your mind and you want to
break this thought loop, say ‘cancel, cancel, cancel’ and then focus on something you would rather
think about that brings positive emotion or resolve.

Hypnosis is Good For You!
The main reason hypnosis is good for you is the experience of hypnotherapy addresses issues at the
subconscious, unconscious and superconscious levels of the mind where 99% of our beliefs and
behaviors are stored. If we continue to overreact to our thoughts and circumstances which affect our
actions, we can feel out of control and miserable. Instead through hypnosis, we can address the Story
we tell ourselves, choose how to respond and create lasting change.

You Create Your Own Mantras
In hypnotherapy, you create personal statements of truth that reveal your highest values. You begin
to understand and learn from your emotions, beliefs, and behaviors and can release any related
feelings from your body! And as you change the Story you tell yourself, your perspective changes for
the better, and every area of your life improves!

Clients create their own lasting change because the change happens at cellular and spiritual levels

From Frustration to Celebration
In a session with me, a client said she throws up her hands in frustration and exasperation with the
amount of work she has to do on a daily basis. By the end of the session, she created a better Story
and saw now that when she throws up her hands, it is to celebrate all the work she accomplishes
daily. She moved from the stress reaction of frustration to a happy celebration of fulfilling her
purposeful work! She created a better Story. She became her own Hero!

Surfing Our Brainwaves
Understanding our brainwave levels helps us understand hypnosis. The following succession of
brainwaves brings us to a deeper level of consciousness: gamma; beta; alpha; theta; and delta.
Gamma brainwaves happen when we are awake and most alert of our surroundings. We are in fight,
flight, or freeze mode in the gamma state. Beta brainwaves are when we are awake and using our
five senses to inform our conscious mind. We activate alpha brainwaves any time we are in a relaxed
state. In the alpha state, we receive insight and can sometimes lose track of time. Theta brainwaves
happen when we are in a meditative state like prayer or deep contemplation. We are in a light sleep
state in theta. And delta brainwaves happen when we are in deep, dreamless sleep.

Surfing our brainwaves from high alert to deep sleep is a natural function of the rhythm of life.
Hypnosis happens any time, day or night when we are at the alpha and theta brainwave cycles.
Hypnosis is natural.

What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis can be understood as thinking, imagining and feeling what is going on inside your mind and
body to obtain a change of consciousness and behavior. Anytime you close your eyes to think (or
pray, for that matter) you disengage your conscious mind. When you disengage your conscious mind,
you are automatically using your inner mind – your subconscious, unconscious and superconscious
mind. Also, anytime you are so focused on your thoughts or a conversation or a movie and you do
things ‘automatically,’ you are in a state of hypnosis. Have you ever driven somewhere ‘automatically’
because you were thinking about something else? Or have you imagined your favorite dessert and
your mouth started watering? Have you been so focused on a movie, you were not thinking about
your surroundings? In each of these situations, you are in a natural state of hypnosis. It happens
every day.

What is the difference between Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?
Although the terms hypnosis and hypnotherapy are used interchangeably, there are differences.
Hypnosis is a broad term under which many modalities are used like stage hypnosis, medical
hypnosis and self-hypnosis. Hypnotherapy is guided by a certified hypnotherapist who uses
conversational structures to guide clients and is less scripted and more organic. The hypnotherapist
follows the client.

In hypnotherapy, the client is in a relaxed and meditative state. The client is in control and can say or
not say anything they choose. The client’s eyes usually are closed to better focus on the Story his or
her inner mind is revealing. The conversation with the practitioner relates to the client’s past, present
or future experiences.

What is the Difference Between Guided Meditation and Hypnotherapy?
In guided meditation, the practitioner is guiding the content of the meditation and the client is making
sense of the script to elicit change. In hypnotherapy, the client is in control of the conversation, and
thus, the process of transformation and the practitioner provides skilled guidance. One-on-one
hypnotherapy is more effective than guided meditation because we are working from the framework
of the client’s Story.

Who Am I?
We can spend our entire life trying to answer, ‘Who am I?’ Often, our life circumstances and environment
dictate our answer. Beginning today, you can experience your ‘I Am’!

I Am!
‘I Am’ is the internal truth about you! When you think, ‘I am a ___,’ you are not stating who you are but what
you do. Instead, you can show up anywhere with a sense of your beautiful and strong, ‘I Am!’ Your unique Soul
is your eternal ‘I Am.’ When you think of who you have been or who you want to be, you miss the chance to be
who you are in the present moment. Accept who you are right now. Close your eyes and sense your internal “I
Am”!

One way to activate your ‘I Am’ is to appreciate your body. Be grateful your body is doing its best to take care
of you! Think of each body area and appreciate the functioning of your cells and organs! Your body will relax,
and your immune system will thank you.

I Am Here!
As a child, you saw life through the hierarchy of your parents and teachers. As an adult, your boss has
authority over you. As a country, our leaders are over us. A hierarchical view of life is not empowering.

Show up everywhere with the external sense of ‘I Am Here,’ and add this is my Territory! Walk with your head
held high. Enter a room owning who you are and claiming your space. You will soon appreciate your
environment and circumstances because you have the right to be where you are!

Life is a Kaleidoscope
If you think of life as a blueprint, you might feel subject to fate. If you see life as a puzzle, you can feel
confused as you search for the next missing piece. If you see life as a tapestry, you can become entangled in
the strings on the back and have no idea what the tapestry looks like on the other side.

View life as a kaleidoscope. Whether you turn the dial forward or backward, you will see beautiful colors all
falling together in an orderly way. Whether you take two steps forward or two steps back, you are still on your
Perfect Path. You are learning life’s lessons and evolving toward Love for yourself, others, and the planet. You
co-create your Life with Source. You are given as many chances as you need. Learn to adore what is and
know you are fulfilling your Divine Soul Purpose.

We Can Do It
Try this simple 3-step affirmation to spark confidence and teamwork! Think, ‘You can do it!’ speaking from your
Soul to your Self. Think, ‘I can do it!’, to affirm this truth from your Self to your Soul. Agree with yourself and
others by thinking, “We can do it!” Close your eyes and say these three mantras. Do you feel positive energy?

Use Your Whole Brain
Use your mind-body connection to activate the right and left hemispheres of the brain. Relax your body and
imagine your left logical and linear brain function. The left side of the brain uses language and defines the Self.
Left-side brain function can also be very bossy and demanding. Have you ever thought about doing something
amazing only to be talked out of it by an opposing opinion from your left brain? The solution is to get both sides
of the brain, talking to each other until a solution is evident.

The right side of our brain is wordless and uses imagination and creativity. Focus on the creative function of
the right brain and consider your next best step from a higher perspective. You will be amazed at what comes
to you!

Hypnotherapy is an important tool because when you close our eyes to think, you instantly relax and begin to
access the right side of your brain. The left side of your brain brings words to your story, and the right side
adds imaginative solutions.

What Is Your Money Story?
Childhood memories have an impact on how we feel about money as adults. I no longer worry about money.
The day I began to see Abundance, I was overwhelmed with energy, gratitude, provision, and love. Transform
your view of money by sensing ‘Abundance is Everywhere’!

Look at the front of a coin or the back of a dollar bill to see ‘In God We Trust”! Now add, “I Trust in Me!” Put
coins around your house, work, and car to be reminded that money is a matter of trust between you and
Source!

Do You Have a Fixed or a Growth Mindset about Money?
A fixed mindset about money is when you consider what you earn, what is in the bank, and the bills you need
to pay, which is a common and practical view of money, but it is also limiting and finite.

To not feel worried about money, develop a growth mindset. If feeling a sense of lack, bring your thoughts to a
higher level and consider that money is currency and energy! Sense money flowing toward you! Just allowing
your thoughts and your body to feel this current of positive energy opens a channel of Abundance. Close your
eyes and give it a try! Can you feel Abundance?

Abundance Is Everywhere!
Keep in mind the mantra, ‘Abundance is Everywhere,’ to rise above your money worries! A growth mindset is
that money is Infinite, which releases emotional tension and opens the flow of Abundance in every area of your
life!

First, see Abundance everywhere! See Abundance in everything that makes up your home. Notice the
abundant parts of your car or cell phone. Now, be grateful for the abundant renewing cells in your body, the
functioning of your organs, and the strength of your muscles. See the abundant fibers of your clothes. See the
abundant leaves on the trees, the blades of grass, the animals, the mountains, the rivers and seas, the sky,
stars and planets.

Sense Abundance as flowing toward and for you and through and from you! By the way, you have an
Abundance of 7 billion potential clients!

Soul Power
Before my money transformation, I mistakenly thought if I had more money, I would feel more powerful. I was
in a group hypnotherapy session when I instantly realized that my power comes from my Soul and not from
money! When we access the spiritual and eternal power of our Soul, we have an Infinite source of energy and
provision.

Money has nothing to do with inner power. Those who depend on money for personal power will be continually
unsatisfied.

Pure Intention
Evaluate why you want money, and soon realize your intentions are for the good of yourself, your family, the
community, and the world. Anything more would be simply more, but not essential to your wellbeing.

Eternal Security
We are tempted to feel more secure when we have money. When we feel secure in what is unseen and
eternal, we trust Universal God Source to meet our needs as we continue to work toward our life purpose.
Trust in your Divine Soul and your unfailing connection to Source.

All money starts with a creative idea. The company you work for started as a creative idea. Your work as an
entrepreneur is fueled by creative ideas! Source bringsa vision for potential action! Source will give the ideas,
words and ingenuity you need. You are a creative person with your unique relationship with Divine Flow.

Each of us is an individual expression of the creative process of Universal God Source, no matter how
circumstances have obscured this reality. You are at the center of an Abundant Universe. Lift your eyes to the

Life As Teacher

Learning Is Not Optional
Whether we want to or not, we spend our entire life learning from every sensation, experience,
concept, and person. We can be open to learning new things naturally like a child. Or we can think
we have certain things figured out and nailed down, and we close our mind to learning something
new. Closing our minds to something new leads us to learn a lesson the hard way, often involving
pain and struggle. Learning is not an option. We will learn either way.

Life As Teacher
To accept ‘Life as Teacher,’ we understand that everything and everyone is our teacher, including
ourselves. We can become curious about what is happening inside and outside of us. We can ask
for Wisdom. Our Soul, as connected to Source, will show us the Truth.

We learn when life is going well. We learn even more when life is not going the way we expected. I
have learned to experience well-being with deep gratitude and to experience pain with open curiosity.
Pain can be a good teacher. However, we need to learn the lesson pain teaches us and then release
the pain, so it does not get stuck in our body or psyche.

Choose Your Wisdom Journey
We create our lives. Sometimes we face a crisis of limitation which challenges us. This crisis can
come at any age or stage of development. Most importantly, we must handle the situation with love
and care. Eventually, we come to a crossroads. We can ignore or not seek to understand the
lesson. Or we can choose to enter a Wisdom Journey and learn something new and grow through
the crisis. This process can take days, months, or even years.

Holly’s Failure Transformed Into Success
Holly called to arrange a session with me. Holly felt a sense of failure from her past, and as a result,
she was fearful of moving forward with a new business venture. She wanted to remove any blocks
that would limit her success. With eyes closed and in a relaxed state, I asked Holly to recount
memorable failures in her life. As she named each ‘failure,’ I asked, “What did you learn? And how
did it strengthen you?” After our session, Holly said to her business partner, “I cannot fail! Whatever
I learn will strengthen me!”

At our next session, Holly experienced the upcoming business meeting at the inner mind level,
inviting each member of the Trinity to assist her. She practiced how she would walk in, where she
would sit and what she would say. The day of the meeting arrived. Holly had all the confidence she
needed to dominate the conversation, insist on the terms of the agreement, and win the contract for
her new business venture!

My Life Lessons so far….
Since I have been open to life as teacher, here are some transformative concepts I have learned.

  • I now understand my Mom and Dad did the best they could with the tools and knowledge they
    had. (As do I with my children and grandchildren.)
  • My Dad would have been there for me as a child if he could have been.
  • Realizing parenting is hard, I grew in compassion for my Mom, and we became best friends.
  • I became comfortable with drama from growing up in chaos. When I learned to take 100%
    responsibility for my life, creating outward drama stopped.
  • I am also learning not to project my inner drama. I acknowledge and resolve life-draining
    emotions.
  • I forgive myself for everything. I accept I did, and I am doing the best I can with the tools and knowledge I have.
  • I accept all aspects of who I am, both the limiting and empowering characteristics, behaviors, and traits.
  • I celebrate my Divine Soul. I deeply value knowing My Soul suffers with me as I continue to
    evolve in Love.
  • I am grateful for my Highest Good and the Highest Good of Others.

Some Life Lessons For You To Consider

  • Everything is for our formation.
  • Everything belongs.
  • Everyone is doing the best they know to do.
  • Everyone is on their Path and timeline.
  • Everything we need is inside of us.
  • Giving and receiving Love is the whole point of being here now, always and forever.
  • Humankind is evolving toward Love.

Why Changing Our Behavior Is So Hard

You Are So Possible!
Changing our behavior is where the rubber meets the road. Habits become part of our physiology.
Changing our beliefs is easy compared to changing our behavior. Learn how changing behavior is
possible by addressing issues at the inner mind level!

Is Resolve Enough? Yes!
Resolve is the first step in changing any behavior! Knowing that we will never give up moving toward
the life we want to live is all we need. When my business coach asked me who I admire most, I said,
“Me”! I will never give up working toward my goals and fulfilling my life’s mission – that’s resolve!
Resolve is enough because it will lead us to seek effective solutions to whatever we want to
accomplish.

When we close our eyes and sense what we are feeling and thinking, we are automatically accessing
our inner mind. One way to activate resolve is to spend time each day focusing on your desire and
intention to create change. And to act on the Truth revealed!

Understanding Our Behavior
Our behavior is stored in our subconscious and unconscious mind, which is 99% of our brain function!
We can have a conscious plan to do (or not to do) something. And then our inner mind seems to
compel us differently, again! It is important to address behavior at the subconscious and unconscious
levels.

Brain scientists have discovered that emotions and feelings enter the brain before a thought happens.
We feel, and then we think! The process is feeling, then thought, then behavior. When a thought
enters the brain, it influences our actions and behaviors. Releasing and healing our emotions is so
important to the quality of our life and the choices we make! Changing our beliefs, emotions, and
feelings at the inner mind level changes our behavior.

Emotions begin with a real event causing biochemical reactions within our bodies. When we think
about this event again, our body thinks it is happening again, and our biochemistry and health are
negatively affected.

We want to keep emotions flowing through our bodies, so our feelings do not get stuck. Our thoughts
re-activate our feelings, and we find ourselves in closed-loop thinking. We can train our thinking to
release this chemical loop by creating a healing Story!

Behavior and Brain Function
An important aspect of changing our behavior is listening to our primal and right and left brain. Our
primal brain is reactive and is concerned for our safety. The amygdala area of our brain stores the
flight, fight or freeze response as a defense mechanism. Sometimes this part of the brain is
overactive and can cause irrational fears and reactions. Even this primal area of our brain is
transformed by creating a new healing Story!

Our left brain helps us with logical thinking. Our right brain is creative and imaginary. Our goal is to
get these parts of our brain to talk to each other so we can come up with solid and creative solutions
to our behavior issues.

Pain Avoidance and Projection
Pain avoidance and projection are where most of our problems begin. Certainly, many addictive
behaviors begin because we are trying to avoid pain. Our relationships become difficult when we
project our pain.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help?
In a session with Dani, we can discuss behaviors you would like to change. Sometimes we find where
these behaviors began. We remove negative emotions and integrate positive ones. We might get
both sides of your brain talking with each other and then reframe the behavior at the subconscious
level to create a doable option. We might ask an imaginary resource to share needed insight. More
than 30 other techniques are available!

Changing our behavior at the inner mind level is possible. One client can no longer stop for her
morning coffee after dropping her daughter off at school. Instead, she goes home for coffee, which
saves money and calories! Another client can no longer eat what used to be her favorite candy bar.
In both cases, these clients asked for help eliminating these behaviors.
