What you Make it Mean for You

What you Make it Mean for You

What you Make it Mean for You

Have you ever found yourself in a conversation with someone who gets heated and is trying to get you worked up about something?

Have you ever had someone try to convince you that you are to blame for their problems?

Has anyone ever assumed the worst of your intentions and you are completely confused by their perception?

In any given situation you find yourself in, you get to decide how it will affect you. Someone could be acting complety inappropriate and even trying to pull you into what they are feeling or thinking.  However, the most important thing we can realize and get good at doing in these stiuations is seeing it objectively and for what it is, ALL ABOUT THEM. Their actions and perceptions have nothing to do with you, because we all see things through our own filters, and we create what things mean. We get to choose our outlook, and we need to take accountablility for our own behavior.

We can choose to take on the emotions the other person is exhibiting, or we can step back and find objectivity.  When we take it in as if it means something about us, that is when we behave differently and act defensively. We can sometimes do this if we are not centered with our inner strength and have a firm hold on a positive self image.

How can we stay centered, and be firm in our self image?

Inner Diologue

This is where it can get convoluted. We all have our perceptions and stories we tell ourselves. If we have had a lot of past negative experiences, sometimes that inner diologue is not very pleasant and we can even come to expect bad things to happen to us.  When we keep hold on the negative diologue or expectations, we are keeping ourselves from creating a better result. Instead, focus on thoughts that invoke better feelings. These thoughts can be of your strengths, past successes, other people’s positive comments about you. Latch on to what builds you and can create a positive outlook. Separate yourself from someone elses behavior, you can not control or make anyone behave a certain way, so it truly is about them. Challenge the negative expectations or conclusions in how you are reacting and what you are making it mean for you.

Getting Objective

One of the best things you can do is step back from the situation and see it objectively, look at through curious eyes as an observer. You can do this by looking at the facts of the situation, removing any emotion from it. Separate the facts of what happened away from how you responded. This can help you see that the situation (one that you did not create) as just that, whatever the situation is. Then you can look at what you were feeling, how you responded and what thought went through your mind. Now you have something to work with. It takes effort and patience to really see it differently, be sure to take your time with it. Change the thought to something productive, positive and believable and build from there.

Keep at it, keep going and keep tapping into your inner strength by focusing on what you can control – your thoughts, and actions. Find why you are making it mean something about you, challenge those thoughts and change them to truth and positivity. You will no longer be rattled by others behavior; you will simply stay centered and be a curious observer.

5 EASY STEPS TO AMPLIFY YOUR MESSAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Learn 5 simple things you can do to boost your social media presence in your marketing strategy.

I Can See Clearly Now!

I Can See Clearly Now!

I Can See Clearly Now!

Remember a time in your life when you were so excited for something to happen and you envisioned it in your mind, what it would be like?

Maybe it was when you were a kid – you and your family were going to Disneyland, you could just see yourself standing there next to Mickey Mouse getting a picture, and in your mind, you could see yourself on the boat going through It’s a Small World singing along with the characters, or on the boat of the Pirates of Caribbean ride.

Perhaps it was graduating from school, getting married, a big promotion, your dream vacation, surely your imagination gave you a vision of what it would be like when you accomplished it or lived it.

Having that vision created a joy and excitement. You had something to work for and look forward to.

When we are intentional with our vision for ourselves on a daily basis, it will fuel our desire to achieve it and spark our thoughts and actions to go after our dreams.

Without vision, and I am talking about the internal vision we have for our lives, we are not motivated or determined to get out there and live our potential.

What can cloud our vision?

  • Negative Attitude – Setbacks in life can turn into a pessimistic attitude if we are not careful to turn disappointments into learning lessons in life. It can also create a feeling of deprivation and desperation if we are not proactive about turning it around with what we can do.
  • Doubt and Fear – Focusing thoughts on doubt and fear is cluttering our mind with all the wrong things. Our imagination of what could be is halted and crippled by unbelief.
  • Buying into others limiting beliefs and perceptions of ourselves. When we put other people’s opinions about us over our own empowered thoughts and beliefs, we are out of integrity with our greater self and we show up awkward, acting differently. We are on shaky ground when trusting that someone else is right and that their opinion is more important than our own. Someone else’s perception is limited to their understanding, plus they may not have your best interest at heart.

What clears up our vision?

  • Imagination – Take time to get inspired and really let your imagination go wild with all the possibilities. Clear away any limiting beliefs and just imagine the possibilities of your wildest dreams. What would you be like, who would you be around, where are you living, what is making you smile, what is your presence when you walk into a room?
  • Belief – Henry Ford said “Whether you think you can, or can’t, YOU ARE RIGHT!” Really hone into what your thoughts are about yourself and what you can do. Do you think, I could never? Or could you flip those limiting beliefs to – I believe I am talented and capable of achieving anything I set my mind and talents to.
  • Focus – What you focus on EXPANDS! Guard your thoughts and focus them on the possibilities, the goals you are setting for yourself, the actions to take, the growth you are creating, and the strength you are acquiring by applying yourself. Keep building on and focusing on your strength, when you do you will enjoy the journey more and the accomplishments will be even more fulfilling.

What happens when you have a clear vision and you claim your vision daily; you get after it and start creating your life intentionally. So, go get after it, don’t wait…. start today! Clear up your vision, get acting on your goals and claim the success you are experiencing. Encourage others to do the same and it is magnified exponentially!!!

5 EASY STEPS TO AMPLIFY YOUR MESSAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Learn 5 simple things you can do to boost your social media presence in your marketing strategy.

I Get So Emotional!

I Get So Emotional!

I Get So Emotional!

Emotions are the spice of life; they are so fun and can really make you feel alive! What happens though when the emotions or feelings we are experiencing are overwhelming and seem like they are taking over our lives, even to the point where we are not able to think clearly or function at our best, or worse the emotions are in the drivers seat of our life.

Here are a few ideas that can help you see what is happening a little more clearly and give you tips that can help you use your emotions to your advantage.

It is perfectly fine and even encouraged to seek help from your doctor if your emotions are continually spiking out of control and you are not able to calm yourself to a place where you can work with your emotions and feelings.

When emotions run high, logic runs low. If you are in a situation that is troubling, or you are triggered by something that creates stress or strong feelings, these moments can spin your emotions out of control.

  • There are many grounding techniques that can calm your body down from the stress of the situation or circumstance. Research grounding techniques and find one that works for you, this will help you be prepared for these moments ahead of time.
  • Breathing is the first place to start. Breath in slowly and hold if for a few seconds and visualize the stress leaving your body as you exhale. Repeat several times. Sometimes, it takes a few minutes of focused breathing to calm you down, but it works amazingly.
  • Once your body is calmer, you can activate your mind better so it can go to work for you. Focus your thoughts and use logic to get going forward again. Think it through in a best-case scenario, and sometimes it helps to think about the situation as if you were on the outside looking in. Remember that your focused thoughts influence your decisions and feelings which propel you into your actions and results.

Of course, emotions are a part of life. We need our feelings to help us heal from things and experience all the ups and downs of life. Often it is our feelings that help propel us forward. However, unchecked and overwhelming feelings that spin out of control and raise the stress in our body can do harm and even do the opposite of helping us. If we do not use them in a positive way, they can deture us from achieving what we want. Focus your thoughts, feel what you feel to heal and then get back up and get going using your miracle mind.

5 EASY STEPS TO AMPLIFY YOUR MESSAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Learn 5 simple things you can do to boost your social media presence in your marketing strategy.

What Was I Thinking?

What Was I Thinking?

What Was I Thinking?

Have you ever walked away from a mistake or situation and asked yourself, “What was I thinking?”. I am guessing you have because most of us have asked ourselves that question at one point or another. It turns out, that is the best question we could ask ourselves!

Focused Thoughts

Our focused thoughts are the breeding ground for our success. In any given situation, the only thing we can control is how we think about it. When we focus our thoughts on positivity, thinking about solutions and open ourselves up to challenge limiting beliefs, we’ve walked through a door leading us to better decisions, feelings, and a more desired result.

Our Miracle Mind

Sometimes we get in our own way by confusing our mind. We want success, a loving relationship, fulfillment, a great career, or whatever the dream is; but then a doubt enters our mind and we start believing it. Our mind goes to work to prove that limiting belief by looking for evidence that the negative belief is correct. Our mind is logical and wants to be right.

Stop, Pause and Re-Direct

When we feel doubt arising – STOP, PAUSE, and RE-DIRECT your thoughts. In that very moment, catch yourself and stop the limiting belief, flip it to a better thought to focus on that will produce what you really want. Give your mind all great things to work with, all the amazing possibilities. Continue to re-direct as many times as you can. Let your mind go to work for you. It will search for everything you need to make it happen. It will prove you right that you are successful, happy, resourceful and highly capable.

Guard Your Thoughts

Because our mind is actively working for us, it is imparitive that we guard our thoughts. Imagine your mind as a garden. Would you plant seeds that produce something you would never eat or want to look at? Would you leave your plants unattended and let weeds choke the growth of the plant? Of course not. So, get to planting the right thoughts and weed out those which would thwart your goals or your positive self image.

What You Think About, Comes About

Taking time to meditate and focusing your thoughts on positive possibilities is feeding your mind good things to work with. Pondering on new information or teachings, and thinking of solutions, has a great impact on your mind for getting a better outcome. Pick a topic that you feel would help your personal growth, then go research all you can from experts on the topic. Ponder what you have read and meditate on it. Open your mind to new ideas and inspiration that motivates you. Look for ways to implement what you are learning. Implement one idea with action until it becomes a part of your productive life. Then add another and so forth. You will grow exponentially when you take time to feed your mind with positive thoughts of change and growth.

Go forward in strength knowing you can truly create the life you want, one thought at a time, one decision at a time, and one action at a time, getting the best results for your empowered life.
