My Fave Chair to Yours 2020

This past week I attended an event “Elise Enriquez” teaching “GYST” Get your sh#!t together.  It was more of a party to celebrate the new year & the remodeling project she & her partner Kim had been working on.   As part of the event, we were to choose a WORD for the 2020 New Year.  A “Word” we wanted to focus on that would bring mission and purpose to our work & personal life. Elise has done this project before, and I have had different word each year.  Last the year was “Simplify” the year before that was “Joy,” this year, it is “INSPIRE.”

 “Inspire means to excite, encourage, or breathe life into. Inspire comes from the Latin word that means to inflame or to blow in to. When you inspire something, it is as if you are blowing air over a low flame to make it grow. A true story can inspire a film. Studying for your test will inspire confidence in you.

The Olympics often inspire people to take up a sport, but they can also inspire patriotism. Inspire means to excite, encourage, or breathe life into.

As I write this month “From My Fave Chair to Yours” I’m giving this word some thought & asking questions.  Who are you inspired by?

Easy maybe to think about that question?  Someone in History? Your parents, relatives, friends, a teacher, boss, movie star, it could be a long list.  I want to be one of those people on that list that is inspiring you & others to take action with Real Estate.  I want to be the “wealth advisor.” of Real Estate, to encourage homeowners & any future buyer that doesn’t look at homeownership as a wealth-producing asset to rethink the investment.  US Residential Real Estate is the largest asset class valued at $33.7 Trillion.  However, in my experience, most people look at the home as a place to live, love & grow memories.  A haven for sure.  What if?  Adding conversation & detailing the data about what investing in a “home” could mean to your legacy and to your overall ability to build generational wealth.  As a Real Estate Broker, I want to inspire my clients to look at the potential of the decisions they are making.  One alteration in the decision-making process could return a client significantly more $$s.  An “Inspired” fresh way to look at your home or investments you make in Real Estate.

Beyond the “I want to be” declaration, I have also discovered in selecting this “Word for the Year” that what I for myself is “Inspiration,” What “inspires me?”   There are lots of events, meetings, training, leaders, etc. that I have spent much time listening to & not always feeling inspired. More drained & confused I would say.  Have you been there? It becomes…The “have to do it” thinking.

The Shift in my thinking for 2020 is, let me show up where I feel inspired.   I want to go where I get filled up with renewed energy.  Inspiration is with the Grandkids or little people, a trip into the sunshine, a walk along the river, a day with a good friend. What does your list look like? No more wasting of time in places that are filled with negativity, droning on, drama, or other such energy-draining events. Enough I say!
