“When you change, be who you are and let everyone around you adjust.”
~Mjellma from Kosovo

Meet our Exchange Student, Mjellma

Mjellma is 16 years old. She stayed with us for eight months as an exchange student. She left a month earlier than scheduled due to the global pandemic. Before Mjellma came to the U.S., she was shy and didn’t talk much. Her family and friends say now she talks too much! Mjellma matured. She is known in her community for having spent time in America. She has a job and will work part-time as she finishes high school. Mjellma has changed. She understands the importance of letting others adjust to who she is now.

We Changed, Too!

We have hosted 16 exchange students since 2006. Each young adult has taught us about life on the other side of the world. We showed them our family culture, our community, and how life is in our corner of America! And we have enjoyed many conversations with their very grateful parents. Knowing we made a difference in their lives is so rewarding. We have changed. We have become more open, inclusive, and accepting.

Choices

Mjellma chose to come to America. We chose to be her host parents. We love seeing the benefit of these choices. I make better choices then I did five years ago. I have matured. Being an entrepreneur gives me more choice in how I spend my time. My worldview has grown broader and deeper. I have become more open and accepting and loving. I have changed in many ways. Mjellma’s advice to let others adjust to how I have changed is so wise and helpful.

We have faced many changes in 2020. The global pandemic has changed us and how we live. Believing that Universal God Source has our Highest Good in mind, look for ways we have changed for the better. For me, I value time with family and friends more than I did before. I value being in nature more than before. I have learned to be more present in the moment even while wondering how the virus might continue to change our lives.

We Are Always Changing

We are made to change. The cells of our body, our emotions and feelings, the thoughts in our mind, our beliefs, and our perspectives are always changing. Accepting change is essential to our peace of mind. In the middle of change, it is vital to stay in the present moment. Focus on the best each moment brings, and the sensation of positive change will stay with you as you move into the future, moment by moment.

Let Change Change You

Take time to notice how you have changed for the better. As you notice, continue to stand strong for who you are. Let change change you. Let others adjust.

We are all evolving toward Love. Each one of us is on our own Path and timeline for change and growth. We have as many chances as we need for our evolution toward our Highest Good.

Some of us feel as though we have not changed for the better. Perhaps this has been the worse year of our lives. Moving through change can feel painful. Someday, this will be behind us, and we will be able to look back and see the benefit of this time of Change.
