Is Resolve Enough? Yes!
Resolve is the first step in changing any behavior! Knowing that we will never give up moving toward
the life we want to live is all we need. When my business coach asked me who I admire most, I said,
“Me”! I will never give up working toward my goals and fulfilling my life’s mission – that’s resolve!
Resolve is enough because it will lead us to seek effective solutions to whatever we want to
accomplish.

When we close our eyes and sense what we are feeling and thinking, we are automatically accessing
our inner mind. One way to activate resolve is to spend time each day focusing on your desire and
intention to create change. And to act on the Truth revealed!

Understanding Our Behavior
Our behavior is stored in our subconscious and unconscious mind, which is 99% of our brain function!
We can have a conscious plan to do (or not to do) something. And then our inner mind seems to
compel us differently, again! It is important to address behavior at the subconscious and unconscious
levels.

Brain scientists have discovered that emotions and feelings enter the brain before a thought happens.
We feel, and then we think! The process is feeling, then thought, then behavior. When a thought
enters the brain, it influences our actions and behaviors. Releasing and healing our emotions is so
important to the quality of our life and the choices we make! Changing our beliefs, emotions, and
feelings at the inner mind level changes our behavior.

Emotions begin with a real event causing biochemical reactions within our bodies. When we think
about this event again, our body thinks it is happening again, and our biochemistry and health are
negatively affected.

We want to keep emotions flowing through our bodies, so our feelings do not get stuck. Our thoughts
re-activate our feelings, and we find ourselves in closed-loop thinking. We can train our thinking to
release this chemical loop by creating a healing Story!

Behavior and Brain Function
An important aspect of changing our behavior is listening to our primal and right and left brain. Our
primal brain is reactive and is concerned for our safety. The amygdala area of our brain stores the
flight, fight or freeze response as a defense mechanism. Sometimes this part of the brain is
overactive and can cause irrational fears and reactions. Even this primal area of our brain is
transformed by creating a new healing Story!

Our left brain helps us with logical thinking. Our right brain is creative and imaginary. Our goal is to
get these parts of our brain to talk to each other so we can come up with solid and creative solutions
to our behavior issues.

Pain Avoidance and Projection
Pain avoidance and projection are where most of our problems begin. Certainly, many addictive
behaviors begin because we are trying to avoid pain. Our relationships become difficult when we
project our pain.

How Can Hypnotherapy Help?
In a session with Dani, we can discuss behaviors you would like to change. Sometimes we find where
these behaviors began. We remove negative emotions and integrate positive ones. We might get
both sides of your brain talking with each other and then reframe the behavior at the subconscious
level to create a doable option. We might ask an imaginary resource to share needed insight. More

Changing our behavior at the inner mind level is possible. One client can no longer stop for her
morning coffee after dropping her daughter off at school. Instead, she goes home for coffee, which
saves money and calories! Another client can no longer eat what used to be her favorite candy bar.
